The Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space plans to fill three temporary one-year positions for a Visiting Professorship in Urban Studies (part-time), each starting on 1st October (2018, 2019 and 2020) in Vienna, Austria.

The positions will be offered in the course of a newly established academic cooperation between KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and the TU Wien in Vienna, Austria: the KTH & TU Wien Joint Visiting Professorship Program in Urban Studies (2019 until 2021).


The program has been jointly developed between the Centre for the Future of Places (KTH Stockholm) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space (TU Wien). It aims at tackling three key challenges of contemporary urbanisation (urban citizenship; urban productivity and urban generations) through a multi-scalar analysis of lived space and a renewed critique of everyday life in capitalist urbanisation of the 21st century.
