AESOP is looking for potential members for its Excellence in Education Board (EEB). EEB member responsibilities include safeguarding the development of the AESOP Quality Recognition (QR) Programme as defined on the QR website, evaluating incoming applications after every annual call, holding 2-3 feedback meetings with applicants, drafting feedback reports, and contributing to advance quality criteria that ensure the transparency of the evaluation processes for awarding the AESOP Certificate of Quality.

 
EEB members are entitled to reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses associated with 2 ad hoc QR evaluation meetings convened by the EEB Chair every year, including an EEB meeting at the AESOP Heads of Schools meeting in the spring.
 
Members of the EEB should have:
i) experience in preparing and leading educational programmes in planning at either Undergraduate or Postgraduate levels;
ii) familiarised themselves with the mission and process of the AESOP QR Programme;
iii) identified with the aim of promoting excellence in education in AESOP member institutions;
iv) good communication and cooperation skills, and fluency in English.
 
Profiles that include involvement in processes of quality assurance and control in candidates’ own institutional/national contexts and former and/or current involvement in AESOP activities promoting excellence in planning education will be regarded as an asset.
 
The new EEB will be constituted by 10 members, who will start their term on the 1st of January 2024. The term of appointment will be 3 years.

The motivation letter should consider the criteria detailed above. The EEB Chair will constitute a pool of experts to undertake the tasks of assessing the incoming applications and advising on the selection of the new EEB members. The final decision will be made by the EEB Chair.
