Call for hosting the 2019 AESOP Congress

The call for hosting the 2019 AESOP Congress is now open.


All institutional AESOP Members are warmly encouraged to apply.

The new deadline for the submission of the bids is 10th March 2017.

The decision will be made by the Council of Representatives at the meeting which will take place in late March 2017 in Warsaw.

Call for Chair of the AESOP Excellence in Education Board

AESOP is looking for candidates for the Chair of the AESOP Excellence in Education Board.

The Chair will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Board, for managing the Quality Recognition Program and, in particular, for guaranteeing the quality and transparency of the assessment processes for awarding the AESOP CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY.

Retirement of Prof. Willem Salet, AESOP President (2008-2010)

Professor Willem Salet, University of Amsterdam, took his official retirement on December 2nd, 2016. On the occasion of his public lecture, his colleagues and former AESOP Presidents Peter Ache and Gert de Roo thanked Willem Salet for his contribution to the AESOP community.
Former President Patsy Healey gave an account of Willem Salet's academic contributions and also spoke about his role in AESOP.
Willem Salet has been President of AESOP from 2008 until 2010. One of his many initiatives for AESOP was related to the further improvement of academic standards of the annual conferences. Willem Salet will certainly stay connected to the community. 

On behalf of our President Anna Geppert we are happy to address Willem our warmest thanks for his great contribution to the development of our Association.

Quality Recognition Project - Applications are open

The applications for Quality Recognition are open.


The AESOP QR is awarded to single programmes (eg. BA or Msc) that fulfill the European standards of quality of planning education recognized by the AESOP charter and complemented by an effective internationalization record. It is valid for a period of 6 years.
