Call for AESOP GPEAN Representative
Published at: 19 October 2012
We are looking for candidates willing to serve as AESOP’s representative in GPEAN (Global Planning Education Association Network), a network of nine planning schools associations globally.
In particular, this person will be responsible to represent AESOP's interests in the Network and promote cooperation amongst member associations of planning schools across the world. We are looking for an individual with fluency in English and very good communication and cooperation skills. Working experience in a multicultural context and innvolvement in AESOP activities will be additional advantage. GPEAN Representative has to be prepared to travel and attend 2-3 times a year AESOP Executive Committee meetings and also 1-2 GPEAN meetings. GPEAN meetings are often held non-European locations.
The GPEAN Representative is a member of the Executive Committee (ExCo) and has to be elected by the Council of Representatives (CoRep). As such, the GPEAN Representative has to be an academic employed at an AESOP Member institution. The postion is for minimum 4 (with the option to be extended to 6) years in order to allow this individual to work effectively within the network, cover the cycle between World Planning school congresses and be elected to a chairing position. The GPEAN Representative as ExCo member can seek reimbursement for travel directly associated with responsibilities of this position such as ExCo and GPEAN committee meetings.
One of the responsibilities of the new GPEAN Representative will be helping in organising the next World Planning Schools Congress in 2016. Our current GPEAN Representative Andrea Frank will be happy to share her knowledge and experience with the newly elected GPEAN Represntative during the last months of her mandatory period.
The procedure of election includes pre-selction of the candidates made by the Executive Committee and final election by Council of Representatives.
Interested individuals should apply by sending a CV and motivation letter to the Secretary General (email: email@example.com).
Application deadline: 15 March 2013
