Prof. UAM dr hab. Pawel Churski
Paweł Churski was born on October 1st, 1967 in Włocławek (Poland).
Graduate from the Liceum Ziemi Kujawskiej High School (1986), and in the years 1986-1991 student of the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Science of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań at the department of geography, specialization in socio-economic geography.
In 1991 graduated from university with honours, presenting his M.A. thesis 'The level and conditions of living of inhabitants of Lwówek Wielkopolski' which was evaluated as faultless. The thesis was granted the 1st Award in the National Competition of M.A. Theses in the field of geography organised by the Polish Geographical Association in 1992. Since 1990 research assistant and next, assistant at the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management at UAM.
In November 1998 received doctoral degree in earth sciences within geography (speciality: socio-economic geography) at the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Science at UAM presenting his dissertation 'Local labour markets of the Poznańskie Province at the time of socio-economic transformation'.
In January 2009 received habilitation degree in earth sciences within geography (speciality: socio-economic geography, spatial economy, regional development, regional politicy) at the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Science at UAM presenting his dissertation 'Regional development factors and regional policy in Poland in the period of integration with the European Union'.
Associate professor at the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (http://www.amu.edu.pl) and at the School of Humanities and Journalism in Poznań (http://www.wsnhid.pl).
Author of over eighty scientific publications, among them three being homogeneous. Manager and executor of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Information Technology Projects. Expert of the Regional Development Ministry. Memeber of the Committee of Spatial Management the Country. The Polish Academy of Sciences. Participant of numerous national and international conferences. Assistant and associate of the foreign scientific centres and European institutions.

The problem area of my research also concerns IT and its application within space management (Geographical Information Systems) and solving mathematical and statistical problems.
My research work is supplemented by didactics which I find very fulfilling and of which I think highly.
