Currently he is PhD Candidate at UPM, Madrid and former Assistant at the University of Edinburgh. He is Lecturer at the University of A Coruña and Guest Lecturer at other Universities.
Luciano G. Alfaya established (with Patricia Muñiz) MMASA Studio in A Coruña in 2004. As member of MMASA Studio, he won a number of prizes in international competitions, including the first prize in Europan 10 in Warsaw (revitalization of the district of Praga Północ). Their work has been featured on different media and published in various formats.
He has coordinated different research works and edited the books "Habitares. The Places of Citizens" (Andar Quatro, 2009), "The City of Neighbourhoods" (Diputación da Coruña, 2010) and "Sustainable Urban Transformations" (Uimp, 2011)
He was Co-Director in five editions of Biennialle Congress Encontros (Architecture International Meeting), in two editions of International Forum City, Territory and Urbanism, Independet Expert of the 10th Mies Van der Rohe Award and Curator of several Exhibitions.
