Dr Dave Valler

Dave Valler is Reader and Research Lead in the Department of Planning at Oxford Brookes and lectures on economic development and regeneration, spatial planning, and urban studies. He was principle investigator on "Devolution and the Politics of Business Representation" (Jan 2001-March 2003, £92k) which formed part of the ESRC’s £4.7m Devolution and Constitutional Change Programme. Currently he is leading research funded by RTPI on ‘Delivering growth? Planning and growth management in the South East’, together with Prof Nick Phelps at UCL. He has also been co-investigator on other funded projects for ESRC, RICS and JRF. Dave edited (with Dr. Andrew Wood, University of Kentucky) “Governing Local and Regional Economies: Institutions, Politics and Economic Development” (Ashgate, 2004), and has been guest editor of special editions of Regional Studies, Environment and Planning A, Environment and Planning C, and Local Economy. Dave has published widely on spatial planning, economic development, sub-national governance and business politics.
