19th meeting: Social disruption and urban complexity

The 19th meeting of the Thematic Group on Planning & Complexity aspires to reflect on whether and how Covid-19 will transform cities and their planning.
 
prof Richard Sennett and prof Helen Couclelis will be keynote speakers. The program will also include a book presentation on the Handbook on Planning & Complexity, traditional paper presentations and speed talks.

On August 4, 2020 more than 100 people were dead and dozens were injured after the explosion in the port area of Beirut. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues in Beirut, who have experienced this devastating blast, lost their family members, friends and colleagues.

The AESOP Thematic Group Regional Design invites to the online conference “Regional Design: A Transformative Approach to Planning” – as part of the Shaping Regional Futures Conference Series 2020. The conference brings together empirical research and theoretical reflections on spatial visioning and regional design-led planning practices. Its main aim is a deeper understanding of how these practices contribute to emerging transformative and adaptive planning approaches and to resilient regional spatial development.
