The Call for the position of AESOP President is open.

The new AESOP President has to be elected in July 2017.

According to the article 23b of the AESOP Charter the mandatory period of the President is two years. The election takes place one year before the beginning of the mandatory period. During this year, the President-elected occupies the position of the Vice President. Having completed the mandatory period, the President moves to the position of the Vice President for a period of one year.

Therefore, the mandatory period of the new President will start in July 2018 and will finish in July 2020.

From July 2017 to July 2018 and from July 2020 to July 2021 the elected President will be representing AESOP as the Vice President.

According to the article 22b of the AESOP Charter only an academic from an European school of planning represented in the Association may be elected as President.

According to the article 23j of the AESOP Charter at the end of the mandatory period of office, the President is not eligible for re-election.

The election will take place during the AESOP Council of Representatives Meeting, on 10th July 2017, in Lisbon.
Candidates might be asked by the Council to present their respective applications during the meeting.
