Full Professor of urban and regional planning.
Research Prize Viera y Clavijo 2004 granted by the Cabildo Insular of Gran Canaria.
He develops his teaching in the school of architecture of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where he is Professor of urban design + urban planning and Final studies project, while usually participates in various educational projects and research, doctoral and master's degree courses and has co-directed the master of urban design and landscape.
Author of books, publications and articles in journals of national and international projection.
He has presented conference papers which have been published in the books of Abstracts in numerous congresses, courses, workshops and international meetings on architecture, urbanism, landscape, climate change and international cooperation.
Educationally, he collaborated with different schools of architecture European, American and African and has been guest professor at the schools of architecture of Venice, Krakow, Oxford, Lyon, Paris Malaquais, Helsinki, Turin, Moscow, Guadalajara and Xalapa in Mexico and UPENN _ Philadelphia in the USA.
He has directed and organized numerous conferences, courses, workshops and international meetings on architecture, urbanism, landscape, climate change and international cooperation and belonged to various scientific committees.
It has developed numerous plans and projects of architecture, urbanism, landscape architecture and Industrial design at MPC architects, receiving various nationals and internationals award, as well as having work published, exhibited and published in the biennial of Spanish architecture and in the Biennale Internazionale d'architettura di Venezia.
This experience was the subject of a monographic exhibition with catalogue published called "TRAYECTOS", sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands in the Literary Cabinet of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
He has been coordinator of quality of the school of architecture of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
He has been Director of the Department of art, city and territory of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
He has been director of the Cartas Urbanas magazine.
He has been member of the Social Council of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
He is Director and principal investigator of the research group URSCAPES within the University Institute of research in tourism and development economic sustainable (TIDES) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
It is a member of the network of excellence of island Territories (RETI) developing research field "Land use impact of tourism using spatial interaction model with land use".
Since 2003 he develops research projects in international cooperation with the Government of the Canary Islands, the Government of Cape Verde, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Region of Souss Massa Draa, as well as the cities of Agadir, Ouarzazate, Sidi Ifni, Bizourane and Tagmoute in Morocco, from the programmes INTERREG and POCTEFEX with the Vice-Rectorate of internationalization and cooperation of the ULPGC.
Special Guest Professor at l'École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon (France) in the biennium 2013-2015.
