Prof. Dr. Michael Koch

Urban Planning (HafenCity University Hamburg)

Prof. Dr. Michael Koch (*1950) has been professor of urban development and district planning in the department of urban planning at the TU Hamburg-Harburg (as Dean for some of this time) since 2004; in 2006, the department was transferred to the newly founded HafenCity University Hamburg. From 1999 to 2004, he was professor of urban development in the department of architecture at Bergische University Wuppertal; there, he was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Art from 2003 to 2004 and managing editor of the magazine Polis. From 1998 to 1999, he was a guest professor at the Technical University Berlin. As an architect and planner, he is a partner in the office yellow z urbanism architecture, Zurich/Berlin.
