The University of Liverpool has a long history in the design disciplines of Architecture, Industrial Design and Urban Planning and Design. We are recognised as a leading voice in advancing the value of design as a driver for innovation across disciplines and industrial sectors, with benefits for enterprise, policy and education.
We are seeking 8 inspiring individuals to join our community of academics, industrial partners, students and collaborators, who are already operating at the forefront of new developments in this field. All of the positions will be based at our state of the art campus in Central London, equipped with a dedicated design studio and workshop facilities as well as our world class Virtual Engineering Centre. Successful candidates will help to shape and deliver our dynamic new Design Year in London Pathway for 3rd year undergraduate students.
Using design as an approach to collaboration across disciplinary boundaries is core to our vision. Successful applicants for our lectureships in urban planning will have a design orientation, experience of inter-disciplinary working and good links with industry in London. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to conduct relevant, internationally excellent research and would ideally have relevant experience in higher education teaching.
We offer genuine opportunities to innovate, shape and influence our design agenda in London. You will be encouraged to develop your interests and reputation in the field, in collaboration with a global network of academic and industry partners who share a common interest in design.
We welcome applications from academics or industry practitioners at varying levels of experience. There is considerable flexibility for full or part time appointments as well as opportunities for guest lecturers from industry and academia, adding to the vibrancy and relevance of our offer.
