Associate Professor or Full Professor in »Urban Design«

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Associate Professor or Full Professor in »Urban Design« to begin in summer semester 2018. This is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship belongs to the Department of Architecture. This department takes a research-oriented approach to teaching also in cooperation with businesses and public institutions. It has an excellent reputation in architectural research throughout Germany. In recent years, the department has forged further structural partnerships and joined interdisciplinary research networks. It is particularly well-connected with the other engineering disciplines at TUM.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of urban design and architecture. The teaching load includes courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs. The candidate is expected to take a lead in further developing the TUM research network in Urban and Landscape Transformation.
We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record and an internationally recognized research program, according to relevant career level. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
